The d.a.k Studio
Heritage you can hold. A Manjadi project.
Where it began...
Both begin with the same question: what around us is worth holding on to?
With Manjadi, the answer is a family’s archive: the house, the photographs, the stories passed down.
With The d.a.k Studio, it’s the landmarks, streets and landscapes that belong to all of us.
The d.a.k Studio makes cultural collectibles - objects that offer a tactile way to engage with the culture, landscape and heritage that surround us. We don’t just look at a place in a picture. We piece it together, hold it in our hands, and carry it with us.
Our first collection turns iconic cultural spaces into watercolour puzzle postcards: painted, cut, assembled, and made to be kept or sent.
Why d.a.k ?
The name d.a.k. comes from dak, the Hindi word for post or mail. It is a fitting nod to the postcard at the heart of each design. It also stands for Discover-Assemble-Keep, a playful invitation to piece something together, send it to someone you love, or keep it close as a reminder of a place and its story.
How manjadi and d.a.k connect
Same research.
The places we illustrate are chosen with the same care Manjadi brings to its restoration and archiving work.
Same purpose.
Both exist so that heritage is lived with, not forgotten.
Two scales.
Manjadi works privately and deeply with families and properties.
dak works openly and playfully with anyone who loves a place.
